The Importance of Body20’s InBody Assessment

The Importance of Body20’s InBody

Knowledge is power and before embarking on any journey it is wise to arm ourselves with as much information as possible in order to make informed decisions.

Master EMS Coach, Neil Campher explains why Body20’s InBody Analysis is so much more thorough than simply stepping on a scale.

“In order to progress with body transformation, we need to understand how the body is made up. How much muscle, water, fat and bone is there in your body? In order to alter your body aesthetics, this understanding is imperative.

Your overall health and fitness journey is no different and luckily Body20 encompasses technology that allows you as the Member, to hold the power in your hand from the very beginning.

Body20’s InBody is the gold standard in body composition analysis. This biometric analysis of your weight, body composition, height and BMI provides valuable insights into your health and wellness.

Unlike a scale, that can prove misleading; Body20’s InBody machine allows the Coaches to get an in-depth look, through detailed analysis into all factors that determine your overall body composition.”

The process is completely non-invasive and only takes a couple of minutes. The only other technology that could potentially be more accurate is a Dexa Scan, which is not only expensive but also time consuming and extremely academically oriented.

Understanding the Process.

Consistency is key and Body20 Members will step onto the InBody on a weekly basis before their workout in order to capture data pertaining to their body composition. This information is imperative for the Coaches to understand where adjustments and alterations need to be made.

Working alongside the Nutrition doctors, the information provided by the InBody will allow the team to understand whether dietary changes are needed or whether small adjustments to the current workout regime need to be implemented.

By analysing a Member’s InBody results over a period of 6 – 8 weeks, Coaches can tell if the Member’s muscle and body fat mass is rising or regressing thus giving them the necessary tools to add or remove elements from training and diets.

Whilst results are looked at on a weekly basis, it is imperative to remember that other factors can influence your results. A poor night’s sleep, a head cold, time of day etc. can all alter your body composition on that particular day, so by collecting data points over a period of time Coaches are able to analyse information more effectively.

It is valuable to remember that a scale simply tells you your weight, a variable that has many elements to it. Water retention is a real thing as water is stored in your muscle’s cells and bone density will also factor into your weight. This is why it is more effective to work with Body20’s InBody, which shows you where and what type of weight you are carrying, as it is not all bad! You can weigh 80kgs and be pure muscle, so do not allow the scale to make you despondent.

The goal of training in many aspects is to lose body fat and gain muscle, information which the InBody allows us to monitor.

How does it work?

The InBody works on resistance to frequencies. Sending frequencies through the limbs and torso, the InBody picks up on how much resistance the body gives to each of these frequencies and using an algorithm, is able to tell us how much of each component you have in your body. Bone, muscle, fat and water are all made up of different densities, so the resistance values will differ, giving the Coaches an in-depth look into what is happening inside your body.

Technology like this is expensive and if you were to simply go for a singular InBody test, the exercise could prove expensive. The analysis, whilst accurate, requires testing over a period of time in order to be effective and provide sustainable results.

As a Body20 Member, this offering is available to you as part of your membership.
