Tips to improve your health, fitness & become superhuman

It’s the stuff of comic books and epic action movies. We watch our heroes with their super strength, incredible mind-bending abilities or the power to heal or be immortal and wish we could be the same.

Of all the superheroes in pop culture, they all usually gained their powers from a freak accident or an over-the-top genetic mishap. Except one. Can you guess who?

Batman! Bruce Wayne gained his abilities all on his own. He studied, researched, sharpened his mind, honed his body and used technology to enhance his abilities.

It doesn’t seem so far-fetched when we put it like that, does it? With discipline, focus and determination, we too have the ability to become ‘superhuman’. The difference between us and the comics though, is that we don’t get to choose a single power. To be superhuman in the real world is to take a holistic approach to your health and well-being and fine tune every aspect of your being.

Whilst the concept might seem daunting, you’d be surprised how the smallest of mindset shifts and the tiniest of routine changes will eventually snowball into you activating your full potential.

The evolution of technology has allowed us to speed up certain processes used to enhance our bodies and our abilities.

EMS technology is a perfect example of this, simplifying our lives and offering us a more effective way of working out. Instead of pumping iron in the gym for 2 hours every day for a week to achieve your desired results, a 20-minute EMS session, twice a week can speed up the process. With the ability to focus the EMS technology on certain muscle groups, we are able to hyper focus our workouts ensuring the best results in less time. Just don’t forget, you must think of technology as an enhancer and not the only answer! Even EMS requires dedication and routine to achieve and maintain your results.

Becoming superhuman is a long process. The key is to start with a single step. Consider your life as a series of mountain peaks and choose one peak to summit at a time. There are no shortcuts to success.

It begins with the right mindset and a commitment. Consider these tips to kickstart your journey and remember to be patient with yourself.

Never stop learning.

The average person will avoid upskilling themselves, making excuses for why they know all they need to know. We can never know enough. Grab any opportunity you can to discover a new talent, learn a new skill or improve and upgrade your current wheelhouse. Your brain is a muscle, you must exercise it just like your body to keep it in peak condition. You are not average.

Establish a good relationship with health and fitness.

These parameters are different for everyone. Set your OWN goals. Don’t allow society to dictate what works for you. Work hard to understand your body and your relationship with it. Figure out what makes you feel good or satisfied and yields results. Recognise what leaves you feeling drained or lethargic. Your body communicates with you daily. Make sure you are listening to what it is saying.

Downtime is valuable time.

Avoid glamourising being stressed and busy. A super human understands the necessity for rest. Do not underestimate the importance of a brief meditation, a good night’s sleep or time spent reflecting. The ability to understand our inner workings, our own souls and have a conversation with ourselves is hugely important.

Over the next few months, we will explore our abilities to become superhuman in more detail. It simply becomes a question of activating our potential.
